MEETINGS

The Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG) will meet at the United Nations in Geneva on 23, 24 and 25 November 2004. Open Consultations will be held on 24 November

In order to meet the concern expressed by all participants in the September consultations for the need for an open, transparent and inclusive process, a round of consultations open to all governments and stakeholders will be held in conjunction with the first meeting of the WGIG.The proposed schedule is as follows:

23 November: Closed meeting of the WGIG (setting the agenda, calendar of meetings, housekeeping issues etc.)

24 November: Open round of consultations

25 November: Closed meeting of the WGIG

The meetings of the 23rd and 25th of November will take place in Room XXIV. The open consultations will be held in Room XVIII. Click here to view the provisional agenda of the meetings. 

Interpretation in English and French will be available for the meetings on 23 and 25 November. Interpretation in English, French and Spanish will also be provided on the Consultations on the 24th.

Pre-registration for these meetings is not necessary for participants in possession of a valid UNOG identity badge. Other participants are invited to submit a completed registration form, in English or French, to , no later than 15 November 2004. They are kindly requested to carry a copy of their registration form as well as a passport or similar national photo ID card with them in order to collect their badge at the UN Securtiy Service (Villa Les Feuillantines, 13 Avenue de la Paix) between 8.00 a.m. and 9 a.m. on 23 November.

A reception for all participants hosted by the Swiss authorities will be held on 24 November after the meeting.
